General Technician
[Stage Management, Projection Design, Sound Design]
202x:
A Devised Theatre One-Act
Company: UNC Greensboro School of Theater
Theatre: Sprinkle Theatre
Date: Fall 2021
This production was devised by director Derya Agaoglu in 2021 as a response to the events of 2020 and the welcoming of a new decade.
The piece involved sketched surrounding relevant news articles and popular trends of the time. Taking on the gloom of the Covid-19 pandemic and the attitude around the 2020 election.
I signed on to work as a dramaturg and research events, but soon became a general technician for the production, being placed in charge of sounds, video, stage management, paperwork, and lighting. As the technician, I worked to provide context to the stories being presented. This was my first experience using a projector in a theatre context and it happened almost accidentally. After seeing my content, the media and lighting professor asked me to work on Sweat as a projections designer.
